Elk Hunting - Montana
Home Jo Joe Alec Bailey Sam Jager

In the beginning of November 2008, I took an elk hunting trip to Southwestern Montana with my Dad and others.  We camped and hunted in national forest in the Greenhorn range of the Rocky Mountains, approx. 30 miles South of Alder, MT.  The rugged mountains were big, steep, and wild.  Dad and I were both successful and each got bull elk (5 X 5s).  Unfortunately the photos do not even come close to conveying the size or scale of this beautiful country.

A pretty good day for Dad and me! (11/4/08)

Not a bad campsite location!

The one day I hiked over 3000' vertical feet to 9100' elevation on Sheep Mountain.
I made my way up the ridge on the right-hand side of this photo not too far from the top.  It was AWESOME!
